2019 Meeting Schedule

Next 2019 Flyin
Saturday, October 12, 2019
The Fly-in is at the Grimes Field Airport (i74), 1 mile north of Urbana, OH. It is a carry-in meal. We will eat at 12:00 noon at the the Mid-America Flight Museum hanger which is the largest hanger on the south end of the row of hangers. It has signs on both the north and east sides of the building. Fly-ins can park anywhere around the hanger. Drive-ins can park on the east side of the hanger and enter through the small door on that side. (State route 68 side). Leroy Lynn is our host and he is planning to cook several roasts and serve up roast beef. Please bring a side dish to share - i.e., salad, vegetable, dessert. Leroy will provide beverages, too. There are bathrooms, microwaves, small refrigerators, and a gas grill in the hanger. We will see the restoration of a 1929 Travel Air 6000, being led by Doug Smith, the same guy that showed us the Grand Champion Ryan ST at New Carlisle. The Travel Air 6000 was a 7-passenger "airliner" in its day, although hauling the mail had priority. Leroy says restoration progress has been amazing because they intend to fly it to Oshkosh this year and see what the judges think of it. It looks like this promises to be another fun fly-in,
